Grant’s recent announcement really took me by surprise. Moola.com will be releasing an API which will allow players to play games outside of Moola for Moola dollars. As he explains,
This new feature is a Game API that will allow other game websites to “Moola Enable” their games. This means that you will be able to play games for Moola on other websites.
Of course, Moolagans will have control over their account at all time. They will have to give their express permission to allow another website to access their account. They will also be able to revoke their permission at any time…
We have a couple of partners lined up and will start announcing them as they finish integrating their games with Moola. (This could take a while.)
At first when I first read this post, I thought this is a great addition. Members have been complaining about the number of games available for a while now. But with the addition of an API, there will be larger number of games for Members to play in many different categories. So you Chess and Checker players may finally get the game you have been wanting.
On the other hand, will the addition of more games make finding a game match more difficult? It is already difficult as it is, but with more people dispersed among many different games, will it hurt more then help the site? I assume that Moola’s solution to this would be to add a feature that will allow players to search for a match through multiple games. Will this solve that problem? what do you think?
